Short: Converts OctaMED modules to XM's Author: pynjo@jytol.fi (Jouko Pynnönen) Uploader: pynjo jytol fi (Jouko Pynnönen) Type: mus/misc Architecture: m68k-amigaos; ppc-warpup MED2XM is a little shell utility to convert OctaMED Sound Studio modules (MMD1, MMD2, MMD3) to FastTracker 2 (XM) modules. Usage is simple: at the shell prompt type med2xm [XM file name] and the program will convert the OctaMED module and create the XM file. Limitations It can't convert a module that has * more than 32 channels (this is the XM limit) * patterns that have more than 128 lines (same reason) * instruments with hold or decay * synthetic or hybrid instruments * MIDI instruments * multiple songs * too many simultaneous commands (it tries to use the FT2 volume column whenever possible) New Features in V1.4.0 * miscellaneous bugfixes concerning effects, volumes, ... * The new -Q switch disables most output and "fancy" console IO. * You can specify the output file name as an additional argument * Use -p switch to force usage of 68k for converting (by default PPC is used is present) If you find bugs or tunes that won't get converted right/at all, please e-mail me about them. If possible, just tell where I can find the problematic OctaMED module, instead of e-mailing it to me ('coz I'd probably get giga- bytes of them). And of course, if you think this is a brilliant utility, i don't mind getting some positive feedback either.
