From djconnel@flash.net:

The design is quite well done architecturally, but the image could use
some work from a rendering point of view -- better use of textures as
well as better incorporation of a surrounding scene would help. Also,
the scene doesn't represent a "breakthrough" in actual engineering...
this is more of an architectural than engineering contribution.

There is very little in this image that aids in the identification of
what the viewer is supposed to see. As the artist has not tried to
create a reality image, the image still lacks anything that allows it
to be interpreted by others. Where is the bridge that is referenced? Is
it the teeny tiny brown line on the right side of the picture?

From agage@mines.edu:
I believe that the topic was engineering achievements, not transportation
(which is listed in the text file).

An interesting image, though I'm having trouble figuring out just what
everything in the picture is...perhaps a different camera viewpoint would have
given a clearer idea of the walkway and it's relationship to the two buildings.
Also, there's some wierd breaks in the image, as if strips of it have shifted
left or right.

From chipr@niestu.com:
I think you got the wrong competition--there is no "stills--transportation"
competition. Now, it is arguable that your pedestrian bridge is a great
engineering achievement, but I just think you got off track. Looking at the
image on its own merits, the lighting could use some work (too flat) and the
textures could stand improvement (everything is too smooth).

From bobfranke@halcyon.com:
Was this image created for the competition? It appears to be a larger version
of the image on your web site. It even has shading around the edges to
simulate a raised image on a page. Also, I don't understand what the green
stuff is in the background.

Transportation is the ANIM topic!

From ethelm@bigfoot.com:
To be a real achievement a project has to get past the planning stage.
Good as far as it goes.

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:
I cannot make out how (if at all) the large white horizontal things are
attached
to the left part of the building.
Several parts of the scene suffer from aliasing artifacts.
When was you 3rd year at Architecture school? If it is not now, this is an old
scene and should not have been submitted!

Is the red thing overhead supposed to be a sunset sky, or the underside
of some larger structure? The foreground structure is interesting.

A striking image. To me, it suggests a giant heat exchanger.
