Is the texture along the outer walls genuine?

=====
From djconnel@flash.net:
Nicely rendered! This is a very effective rendering of a highly topical
subject -- this is one of my favorites, all around.... :)

From castlewrks@aol.com:
Hmmmm... this is an interesting, if not unique image. The main problems that
are apparent are the loose hap-hazard placement of the tiles in the reactor. In
the same fashion that the real reactor would not reflect this kind of shoddy
construction, modelling such a space should strive for similar perfection.

From up@ct.heise.de:
have you ever been in a tokamak?!? seems to me ;-)

=====
From sonya_roberts@geocities.com:
Hmmm...never though I'd be calling a fusion reactor "lovely", but in this case I am. Even simplified down from the original image, the inside of the torus is a very striking environment. Excellant work!

From beliaev@utu.fi:
Text is too long.

=====
From kaustin@tgn.net:
The center is very nicely detailed, almost to the point of moving beyond
a trace. The outside wall of the reactor, at least in the back, is
distractingly undetailed, however. Certainly one of the best images in the
competition.

From daves@wkpowerlink.com:
Incredible work must have gone into this one. The plasma looks great.

=====
From chipr@niestu.com:
Excellent detailed image. I knew what it was immediately, without even
reading the text file--great choice of subject. The composition seems a bit
too symmetrical, and the plasma is difficult to make out. Great work overall.

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
After looking at the image for a few moments, I realized what it represents.
Now I can feel the power! Excellent concept, excellent rendering.
Extra points for attempting to maintain realism & accuracy.
I agree, this image was worth the effort.

From arcana@sinbad.net:
Very nice! You did a pretty good job of duplicating the jet-t3-m.jpg image found
on the www.jet.uk site.

From bobfranke@halcyon.com:
All the time consuming work really paid off. I checked out reactor on the web, and this is a very nice rendition of the real thing. Very high marks for concept.

Good looking picture of a good idea.

From ethelm@bigfoot.com:
Impressive!

From jaime@ctav.es:
Hmmm... I've read about this some days ago. Interesting...

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:
Very nice idea and nice image. The plasma ring itself looks not really
convincing, though. And congratulations to your computer for finishing a
render job of more than a week. Sure it must be Linux :)

From 101741.541@compuserve.com:
very nice near-abstract touch, graphically interesting;
movement is also very well suggested

From c_et_d@club-internet.fr:
I prefer to see it on your image than in real ! great modelling work

=====
From lpurple@netcom.com:
The modelling is beautiful, especially since you did it without blueprints
or schematics.

From r@dial-up11.webbernet.net>:
This picture is very striking. It is a technical tour-de-force and I cring at the amount of work involved. A very good piece of modelling. The texture on the blank wall areas doesn't really work for me, however. The subdued blue lighting makes this image feel like the atrium of a vast, empty ice castle, not a container for the force that powers the sun.

From r@bowerbird.cc.uq.edu.au>:
Nice use of halos and radiosity
Notable for lighting, modelling, originality, composition
