From roth@ens.ascom.ch:
nice scene, poor dam. try using "grand" texturing for concrete walls

=====
From djconnel@flash.net:

The dam isn't badly modelled, and the boats a nice addition. The bush is
nicely done, but is too clearly repeated. The falling water needs a lot
of work. The water is nicely done. The sky is nice.

From castlewrks@aol.com:
As a dam, the image is nice... as a rendition of hoover dam, the image
is lacking... no graceful curve of the dam, the height and power of the
real hoover dam is not conveyed by the perspective chosen... all of which
would have helped the "interest" of the picture without adding the
spillways which really detract from the image.

From sonya_roberts@geocities.com:
Quite nice, though the bright blue of the spillways contrasts a little too much with the darker, more subtle colours of the lake and hills.

=====
From kaustin@tgn.net:
The trees/snow in the foreground are particular striking. Dam face and
the water outlets in particular could use some texture, they are far too flat.
The texture on the mountains is too smooth a transition. I imagine this is
supposed to be a representation of the treeline, but the trees look more like
grass.

From chipr@niestu.com:
Good modeling on the dam. The spillways are too blue and perfect--some foam
and some texture would have helped. Very nice trees/bushes in the foreground.

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
Boats and sailplane add lots of interest and scale.
Scene would probably would be better without the spillways.
But since they're there, how about a little froth at the bottom?

=====
From arcana@sinbad.net:
The water flowing down the outside ofhte dam should be more foamy and white than
blue. Hard to render, I know. :{)

=====
From bobfranke@halcyon.com:
Very nice job on the landscape trees and lake. The dam needs more attention to small details. The sail plane and boats are the kind of small details that bring life to an image. Also, thanks for including the url for the DEM files, I may use them in them future.

From wozzeck@club-internet.fr:
And now the spatio-temporal link: the "windows" in the middle of the dam are places to see the great wall through ;-))
Nice foreground (bushes).

=====
From ethelm@bigfoot.com:
Very well done but too sharply perfect to be realistic.

=====
From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:
Really nice image. thin layers of water, however, like running down the
spillways, do not look blue, but rather colorless and make a lot of white
spray further down, esp. where they meet the lower water surface.
The bushes on the slope in the foreground look way too big (esp. when looking
at the boats on the lake).

=====
From lpurple@netcom.com:
Very pretty, well composed. Only nitpick is that the spillway water should be
white, not cobalt blue. It's falling hundreds of feet; it should be all churned
into foam. Similarly, the water at the dam's foot shouldn't be mirror smooth.

=====
From r@cust169.webbernet.net>:
The dam is good, the foreground hillside and bushes are very good and the sailboats are a nice touch. The spillway water needs to be 3d and more textured. The background mountains look too dirty, as if they are soot covered. Their texture also needs more detail.
