IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

"A batterd plane flies on yet another mission,
will it be it's last?"

I was playing Battlefield 1942 when the idea of
creating a Corsair popped into my head. I have always
wanted to make an aircraft, so I thought this would be the
perfect opportunity to make use of the current topic
and make a WWII plane.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Got whole lot of source images from the web. From that
I drew a top and side view to use as reference when modelling.
MOst of the ship is modelled out of Poly's, with the
exception of the engine and propeller baldes which are Sub Div
surfaces. It all started out from a cube, after which I
used the technique of extruding faces, splitting poly's, and moving
vert's around to get the shape I wanted. All of the textures and
bump maps were painted in Photoshop with the new Wacom tablet that
I had just bought.
I found the sky texture at this awsome website,
http://www.fantasticarts.com/textures/sky.htm
The smoke was made with a simple particle emitter.
The blur on the propeller was rendered through Maya.
